South African Sprinter, Oscar Pistorius who shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, later stating he mistook her for an intruder on Valentine's Day in 2013 has filed papers with the Constitutional Court in a bid to appeal his conviction
He was released from jail in October.
"Yes, we have filed papers with the Constitutional Court," said one of Pistorius's attorney's, Brian Webber.
He refused to divulge the basis of their application, referring News24 to the Constitutional Court to obtain the court papers.
Pistorius who was released from jail in October has already served one sixth of a five-year sentence he was handed after being found guilty of culpable homicide, is currently out on bail of R10 000 and is expected to head back to the High Court in Pretoria on April 18 for sentencing proceedings.
This after the Supreme Court of Appeal in December changed his culpable homicide conviction to one of murder.
The Paralympic star was also given an electronic monitoring tag and is only allowed to travel within a radius of 20km from his uncle's Waterkloof home, where he was previously staying under correctional supervision for his original sentence of culpable homicide.
